No Rules, Just Right

Bangladesh seems to live by the motto "No Rules, Just Right." I have to confess that I miss the food from that American steak restaurant. But I digress. Perhaps nowhere was this motto more evident than at our birthday party at Foye's Lake amusement park, and I must say that this no rules just right thing made our trip to the waterpark better than any before. For starters, all my little kids could ride any of the slides. No whining because the littlest ones could only ride the "baby" rides or slide down the "baby" slides. Nope, they could pretty much go down whatever I let them go down. As an added bonus, on the tube slides, you could go one right after the other, so that the race down to the pool was filled with bumps and squeals of utter delight as tubers were pushed and jolted together in a train. If my kid wanted to go backwards down the slide...his choice. Now, I have to throw out a disclaimer: there were virtually no other people in the park that day. Maybe my western sensibilities preferred it that way. And maybe the wide open spaces allowed this motto to flourish so well. (I have heard that in previous experiences little kids slid down together on the "family slide" only to be immediately followed by grown men sliding down who nearly squashed them to death.) But thankfully none of these scenarios unfolded at our party. In sum the amazing South Asian Outback made for a perfect way to celebrate the birthdays of my two oldest children. It was a party they will never forget.
